Thirty years since the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme undertook its first project in China, a celebration was held to reflect on the contributions that volunteering has made to peace and development over the past three decades. Today's event was organised by UNV China office and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) China and coincided with the 10th Anniversary of the International Year of Volunteers (IYV+10), an initiative that has unified people around the world to reinvigorate global volunteer service.
