Anxo Pérez Rodríguez: Determined to make an impact

Anxo Pérez Rodríguez is from Spain. He found his calling as an Online Volunteer and contributed his skills to transcribing audio to text making a lasting impact as part of the Programa de Voluntarios ONU (UNV) in Venezuela.

He has bilateral hearing loss as a result of jaundice at birth. Undeterred by this challenge, he embarked on a journey driven by the desire to be useful and embody his ideological values of solidarity, altruism, empathy, and human rights.

Anxo transcribed audio recordings and ensured the accuracy of the content. His assignment extended to converting UN Volunteers' testimonials into text format amplifying their contributions.

While his disability presented challenges, it didn't thwart his determination. The slower pace in audio processing was a minor obstacle that he effortlessly overcame, proving that commitment and passion can triumph over hurdles.

Anxo's Online Volunteer assignment enriched his personal and professional growth. He expanded on his communication skills and problem-solving abilities through volunteering.

To persons with disabilities contemplating online volunteering, Anxo shares his wisdom. He emphasizes the direct impact volunteering offers, providing a unique opportunity to influence individuals, groups, or organizations, a truly rewarding experience.

In the words of Rosa Luxemburgo – a revolutionary, Anxo finds inspiration, "Who does not move does not feel the chains." This motto encapsulates his spirit of resilience and the drive to break barriers.
