Kyoko Yokosuka

Kyoko Yokosuka, UNV Deputy Executive Coordinator

Ms Kyoko Yokosuka (Japan) has been serving as the Deputy Executive Coordinator of the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme since April 2021.

Prior to her current appointment, Kyoko was the Chief of the UNV External Relations and Communication Section (ERCS) from July 2019.

Kyoko joined the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in 1998, when she started working in Romania as Junior Professional Officer. Since then, she has worked in the Bureau for Development Policy and the Regional Bureau for Europe and the CIS at UNDP headquarters. Kyoko also served as UNDP Deputy Resident Representative in Uzbekistan (2005-2010), Lao PDR (2011-2014) and Bangladesh (2017-2019). 

Kyoko is a Japanese national and holds a Master's degree in Development Economics from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London. She speaks Japanese and English and has one child.
