The UNDP-UNV Talent Programme will offer young people with disabilities the opportunity to acquire practical work experience and exposure to the work of the UN Development System through assignments with country, regional or headquarters offices of UNDP and other UN entities. UNDP-UNV will identify relevant assignments and select applicants. Programme participants and host offices will benefit from dedicated support, guidance and professional development opportunities as part of the programme.

In 2016, 30 national UN Volunteers served in China to support the SDGs and inclusive development. 19 Chinese nationals served as UN Volunteers overseas to promote peace and development. 293 Chinese nationals volunteered online through UNV’s Online Volunteering service.

UNV partners at governmental and non-governmental level with the Republic of Korea to advance peace and development. UNV promotes university-level volunteering in partnership with leading universities in Europe, and the successful Online Volunteering service that opens up possibilities for young people to volunteer off-site through the internet. This publication highlights the long-standing partnership between UNV and the Republic of Korea, the contribution of Korean UN Volunteers, as well as some key data.

UNV is pleased and proud to celebrate 30 years of collaboration with the People's Republic of China. A chronological and thorough overview of the long-standing interaction can report significant progress, as well as a shifting focus toward areas like innovative social technology, greening social engagement and stronger civic participation in China, especially in an affluent-eastern/poorer-western perspective and ethnic minority perspective. Moreover, such a track record can set a benchmark for the future of superior internal social safety nets and protection of vulnerable social groups.
