UNV - Share the Story (Liberia)

In order to promote a healthier community, UN Volunteers of Liberia with help from partnerships of the armed forces of Liberia, UNICEF and other agencies provided free medical services for students of the school of the blind and for other residents (women and children) in the township of Virginia. Volunteers organized treatment for diseases such as malaria, typhoid, respiratory infections, and skin conditions. About 150 students, from ages five to 18, received care as part of an annual medical outreach clinic.
