The SWVR 2011 shows how volunteers make significant contributions to economic and social development, and provides alternative visions of better societies.
The first State of the World’s Volunteerism Report (SWVR) was launched at the United Nations General Assembly on 5 December 2011. The report promotes a better understanding of volunteerism, demonstrating its universality, scope, and reach and examines volunteer contributions in fields such as sustainable livelihoods, social inclusion, social cohesion and disaster risk reduction.
